Like a stirring memory from a dream - it lingers.  Our origins, stored in our soul may lie sleeping for some time until awakened.  Animal encounters, imagery of a particular landscape, the sound of traditional songs and musical instruments or the beauty of art and crafts from a particular region can bring those memories to life. Facets of our past journeys often resurface – calling out, longing for a voice and new expression. For an artist, that summons can be irresistible. Throughout the ages ART has played an important role celebrating ideas, beliefs, regions, peoples and mythologies.

My mother spoke many times of my heritage but details and proof are lost. However, there is an undeniable feeling of connection and comfort inspired by the traditional creations of Celtic and Indigenous artisans. Their soulful tributes to nature, her animal wise ones and mystical energies resonate with me. I'm grateful for their powerful creative contributions and stories that have planted joyous inspirational seeds in many of my paintings. ART will continue to be an ever evolving reminder of universal wisdom, truth and individual freedom of expression - that has the ability to unite us all as citizens of planet Earth.
