Like a stirring memory from a lovely dream - it lingers. Our origins, stored in our soul may lie sleeping for some time until awakened. Perhaps a particular landscape, the sound of certain songs and instruments or the beauty of art and crafted items can bring the memories to life. The details of my heritage are few. But there is an unmistakable comfort inspired by the creations of Celtic and Native American artisans. Their beauty feels like home.
A special friend encouraged me to pick up my silver flute again. Shortly after crawling through the usual learning exercises, a book of Celtic music opened up the flood gates of joy and learning. The cheerful and soulful tunes were somehow already a part of me...from another magical time. About a year later, I could not ignore my calling to play Native American style flutes. I now have seven - in various keys. One of my greatest pleasures is hiking in nature, settling in a lovely spot, surrounded by birds and squirrels and playing flute for Great Spirit.
